Making A Purchase

Legal Ordering Age

Red & White Wines Ltd. will not sell to anyone under the UK legal drinking age of 18 years.

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse through our on-line shop, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.

A more extensive range of wines, not available in the on-line shop can be found by downloading our main wine list.  The prices in this list are quoted excluding VAT and can be purchased by contacting us on 01548 854473 or e-mail: sales@red-white.co.uk.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Maestro (Switch) and Delta. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped.
Prices are subject to currency and market fluctuations, changes in duty and VAT, as well as stock remaining unsold. Our price list is in UK pounds sterling.

Sourcing Unlisted Wines
We are always willing to assist customers in sourcing specific wines not listed by Red & White Wines Ltd. We have an extensive range of contacts and distributors in the International Wine Trade which we often use for this purpose. Please contact us with any specific requests and we will always try to help where we can.

Sending Wine as a Gift
If you would like to send some wines as a gift simply tick the Select Shipping Destination box on the Checkout Page of this site. This will enable you to specify an alternative delivery address. We are happy to include a personalised message from you, simply email this request to us immediately after placing your order. It is very important that we are given all details such as the recipient’s name, full address including full postcode and contact telephone number. We need a telephone number to ensure that there will be someone there to receive the gift or who can authorise us to leave the gift in a secure location. In the absence of this full and accurate information we may need to raise additional charges in respect of deliveries which have to be re-scheduled.

Shipping and Handling

Carriage Charges and Minimum Delivery

Orders for delivery on the UK MAINLAND TO ONE ADDRESS over £250 are delivered free of carriage charges. Orders of less than £250 are subject to a £10 delivery charge.  In some instances delivery to certain areas cannot be effected by our regular transporters. Additional surcharges will be applied to orders required for delivery outside of the UK Mainland. Any surcharges will be notified to and agreed with the customer before dispatch of the goods. Orders are accepted for delivery on Mondays to Fridays between 8.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. We reserve the right to raise a charge for the cost of delivery to any area regardless of quantity ordered. Of course, any order incurring such a surcharge will be notified to the customer before delivery is arranged. We regret we are unable to guarantee delivery at a specific time of day although we will try our very best to accommodate any reasonable requests. Multiple deliveries will incur delivery charges per delivery address.

Instructions to Leave Goods without a Signature
It is always preferable to sign for any delivery but arrangements can be made to leave the goods in say a garden shed or porch. Please notify us at the time of ordering if you require the goods to be delivered on this basis. Red & White Wines Ltd. cannot be held liable if goods go missing after the courier has left goods without a signature If no one is home when the courier first attempts delivery a card will be left at the address explaining that an attempted delivery has been made.

Delivery to Alternative and/or Work Addresses
Delivery to other addresses and/or work addresses can be arranged. Please tick the Select Shipping Destination box on the Checkout Page of this site. We do not deliver on weekends or UK National holidays.

Delivery of Glassware
Regardless of whether they are part of a wine order, all glassware, accessories and books are subject to special delivery terms. Please contact us for further details.

Re-packaging of Goods for delivery
Subject to the nature and high value and/or rarity of some products we reserve the right to repackage goods in containers suitable for the delivery of fragile goods. This will be done to ensure the safe delivery of such goods.

Ordering from outside UK Mainland

Additional transport charges are applicable for all goods destined to be delivered outside of the UK Mainland. You should contact our office for any specific enquiry or quotations.

Wine Order Collections 
You can collect your wine order from The Wine Store in Churchstow. Please allow at least 2 working days for us to process your order - we highly recommend telephoning before you make your journey to check that your order is ready.

Delivery Schedule
Delivery Times

Deliveries are sent on a next day courier service. Whilst in practice most orders are indeed delivered on this basis there are inevitably times when goods cannot be delivered so speedily. If a specific delivery day has been requested we will generally endeavour to keep customers informed if there is to be any delay at all. Any specific delivery requests should be made at the time of ordering. Orders to be dispatched on a courier will normally be sent out on the day of ordering provided the order is placed before 11am (GMT). Orders received after this time will be dispatched on the next working day for delivery the day after. 

Red & White Wines has its own fleet of vans which operate regular weekly deliveries throughout the West Country. We reserve the right to send any orders via Courier as availability of space on our own vans is sometimes limited. If your delivery would normally be delivered on our own vehicle we will notify you at time of order if this will not be possible.


Back Orders

If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel or amend your order if you would rather not wait.

All wines and spirits are offered subject to availability and remain the property of Red & White Wines Ltd until payment is received in full.

Red & White Wines Ltd is a UK company and any dispute or claims that arise from using this Website must be made and settled under UK law.

In the unlikely event that we have run out of an item on your order, we will endeavour to contact you to arrange a replacement. However, at peak times of the year, we do reserve the right to replace out of stock items with another of equal or greater value.

We make every effort to ensure that the information on this website is accurate and current; however Red & White Wines Ltd provides this web site and its contents on an "as is" basis and it makes no (and expressly disclaim all) representations or warranties of any kind with respect to this website and its contents.

Red & White Wines Ltd also reserves the right to change price and availability information without notice. All prices quoted are subject to currency, duty and market fluctuations and are quoted subject to availability.

Tax Charges
For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 17.5% VAT is added.

Credit Card Security

All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

Guarantee
We stand behind the exceptional quality of our wines and will gladly refund if they do not meet expectation. Please see our Returns Policy for full details. Older wine bottles may well have some ullage and these will be priced accordingly.

Privacy Policy 
Red & White Wines Ltd. do not disclose buyers' information to third parties. Red & White Wines Ltd is totally committed to protecting the privacy of its customers. Whilst we do obtain identifying personal information from customers, such as names, email addresses and delivery addresses, this information is gathered solely for the purpose of fulfilling orders. Returns Policy

Damaged Goods
For breakages or short delivery, notification must be given to ourselves within three working days of delivery. Notification can be by telephone, post, fax or email. Damaged packages or faulty goods must be retained for inspection by ourselves or our carriers. We regret we cannot accept any claims without production of a valid signed delivery note. 


Return of Older Vintages or de-listed Products
We regret we are unable to take back into stock goods which are no longer listed in our current wine list.


Faulty Goods
If a wine is found to be corked or faulty we will be happy to offer a replacement of equivalent value or a credit on account. If wines are discovered to be faulty or corked notification must be given within 5 working days of delivery.


Shortages/Incorrect Goods Delivered

On the rare occasions this happens we will happily offer a refund or replacement of the incorrect goods upon return of such goods to us. Notification must be given within 5 working days. 


En Primeur Cancellations
Due to the unique terms associated with purchases of wines En Primeur we regret we can only cancel En Primeur orders within 5 working days of order placement. A full refund will then be given. Notification of cancellation will only be accepted if made in writing within 5 working days of order.


Sale or Return
We are more than happy to supply wines on a sale or return basis to private customers provided that wines are collected from our premises and any balance returned likewise. Where collection by ourselves or carriers is necessary a charge will be levied. Wines supplied on a sale or return basis will be invoiced in full at time of dispatch and a credit note for returned wines will be issued only upon receipt of wines into our cellars and not before.


Remittance Terms
Retention of Title Clause
The title in the goods will be retained by Red & White Wines Ltd until a) the goods are paid for in full and b) no sums whatever shall be due to Red & White Wines Ltd.
